Not Just Accountants—
Adventist Education Specialists

We have lived and breathed Adventist education—as students, as professionals, and as believers in the transformative power of Christian education.

Why We Exist

Adventist Academy Solutions was founded on a simple conviction: small Adventist schools deserve professional financial management that truly understands their mission, culture, and operational realities.

We are not a generic accounting firm that happens to serve schools. We are specialists who have attended Adventist boarding academies, eaten in those cafeterias, worked student jobs, and later managed the very financial systems that keep those institutions running.

We understand the pressure of GCAS audits, the complexity of Zirkle and conference scholarship programs, the sensitivity required in student account collections, and the unique relationship between schools and their conferences. Because we have navigated all of it firsthand.

We chose to serve only Adventist K–12 schools because depth of specialization delivers better outcomes than breadth of clientele. Your school deserves a partner who knows your world—not one learning it on your time.

Why Exclusively Adventist Schools?

Adventist K–12 education has characteristics that generic accounting firms simply do not understand:

  • Boarding operations — cafeterias, dormitories, auxiliary accounting, and transfer complexity
  • Multiple scholarship programs — Zirkle, VA Tax Credit, conference awards, church subsidies, each with unique tracking requirements
  • Conference relationships — denominational reporting standards and conference treasurer expectations
  • Student work programs — APS system, non-employee student labor, quarterly reporting
  • GCAS audit standards — specific to Adventist institutions and distinct from standard audits
  • AASI.NET accounting system — the specialized platform most outside firms have never used
  • Mission-driven culture — where every financial decision carries spiritual weight

Our Mission

To empower small Adventist academies with professional financial management that enables better strategic decisions, frees leadership to focus on educational mission, and ensures faithful stewardship of the resources entrusted to Adventist education.

Experience That Can't Be Replicated

Seven years as a student. Six-plus years as a professional. A career spent entirely inside Adventist education.

Kevin Martin — Founder

Student Experience (7 Years)

Attended an Adventist boarding academy and Adventist university. Experienced firsthand the rhythms of campus life—cafeteria meals, dormitory culture, student work programs, chapel, and the financial realities families navigate to make Adventist education possible.

Professional Experience — Shenandoah Valley Academy (6+ Years)

Served as Student Accounts Manager and Accountant at a 172-student boarding academy. Managed complete accounting operations: monthly close, GCAS audit preparation, FACTS tuition management, APS student payroll, scholarship administration (Zirkle, conference, church), student collections, and board financial reporting.

Systems Mastery

Deep expertise in AASI.NET accounting, FACTS tuition management, APS student payroll, and conference reporting requirements. Understands the practical reality of month-end close under time pressure, audit documentation standards, and managing multiple scholarship funds simultaneously.

Cultural Fluency

Understands the human side of Adventist academy operations: the sensitivity required in student account conversations with families, the importance of conference relationships, the board dynamics unique to denominational governance, and the weight of managing resources dedicated to Christian education.

"When I review your financial statements, I'm not just seeing numbers. I'm seeing the cafeteria where students eat, the dorms where they live, the scholarships that made it possible for them to attend, and the mission you're working to sustain. This is stewardship of a sacred trust."

— Kevin Martin, Founder

Our Core Values

🙏

Stewardship

We view every dollar as God's resources entrusted to Adventist education. Professional financial management isn't just about accuracy—it is faithful stewardship of means dedicated to ministry.

🎯

Excellence Without Exception

Small schools deserve the same quality of financial management as large institutions. We bring professional-grade systems, processes, and expertise regardless of enrollment size.

🤝

Genuine Partnership

We are not here to replace your team or assume control. We are here to empower your leadership with the information, systems, and strategic capacity they need to lead well.

❤️

Mission First

Everything we do is aimed at one outcome: freeing your leadership to focus on students, curriculum, spiritual formation, and community—not data entry and late reports.

🔒

Trust and Transparency

All systems remain in your school's name. You retain full access and approval authority. We operate with $2M in professional liability coverage and FERPA-compliant protocols.

📐

Precision and Consistency

Books closed by the 15th. Reconciliations documented. Audit packages organized year-round. Professional work delivered consistently—not just when there's time.

The Team Approach: Why It Matters

Adventist Academy Solutions operates as a professional team exclusively serving Adventist K–12 schools—not as a solo contractor. This distinction matters for your school in practical ways:

  • No single point of failure — systems are documented, processes are standardized, and coverage is not dependent on one person's availability
  • Consistent delivery — your books close on schedule regardless of vacation, illness, or turnover
  • Professional accountability — operating as a firm, not an individual, with appropriate insurance and professional standards
  • Proper vendor classification — standard vendor procurement, not employment, eliminating Department of Labor compliance concerns for your school
  • Shared Adventist values — every team member understands denominational culture, expectations, and the weight of the mission

Insurance & Compliance: $2M professional liability coverage · Cyber liability protection · FERPA-compliant service agreements · All systems remain in school's name and control
